What's the driving force behind the major shift in my artwork?
My background is in textile art and garments as well as many forms of art, mediums. All my skills have come together and shifted mostly to Mosaic Art which incorporates all my previous skills.
What's the driving force behind the major shift in my artwork?
March 30, 2024 my family and I lost my son.
Scott was an amazing tattoo artist and his art will live on for as long as his last customer or sibling is still alive wearing a piece of his heart and soul. Scott has inspired his brother to start drawing and using his talents again in his honor. Family and my art are what give me purpose.
My first large mosaic table was where I pictured Scott's spiritual world. Both day and night.
On May 17th, 2024, we would have been celebrating Scott’s Birthday but the universe had different plans.
I went to the Spring Preserves to enjoy the Butterfly Habitat and spend some quality time with Scott and nature That’s when I knew What I am meant to do. I found a way to incorporate all my previous skills into mosaics and textile mixed media artwork.
This year on his Birthday, We went to Dave and Busters to Play. Scott was the master of the Claw game. When he was 13, he had won enough stuffed animals to fill a black garbage bag and donated them to a children's hospital in Arizona. I saw that some locations have a human claw game. He would have loved that!
I will find ways to take a portion of my proceeds to help others struggling with depression, PTSD and Addiction. I know is that you can't help someone if you’re unaware they need help.
My Art has been therapy to be able to walk through the inconceivable.
Scott will be missed but never forgotten!!
I love you forever, I love you for always…Mom
After the loss of my son, I felt the best way to honor the artist that he was is to continue my work and get inspiration from his creativity and talents.
This is where we began and all roads lead to Mosaic Art and Textile Designs.
Let’s celebrate life, not destroy it.
My Story? What would I tell myself if I were just starting out? Look for inspiration in nature and in the creative work of others. The success Is motivation to keep moving forward every day. Taking the action, know it's handmade and made from the heart. Always embrace the imperfections and move on to something new.
I've enjoyed so many different forms of art and I’ve struggled with many too.
It’s when we let the work become our inspiration and follow the first stitch with the next natural stitch that it becomes art.
Upcycled Paulson Poker Chips and game pieces, vintage Finds and embroidery along with a few clothing favorites.
